Deciding on where to stay in Ireland can be confusing to some as there are various types of housing available throughout the country.
According to Failte Ireland, the country's tourism authority, Ireland had a total of 223,398 bed spaces available to tourists in 2019.
That includes hotels, guesthouses, B&Bs, self-catering accommodation, caravan and camping facilities, youth and holiday hostels, as well as other properties categorized as Irish Welcome Standard properties.
They each have their advantages and disadvantages based on one's own personal preferences.
